The new Star Wars favourite duo have now returned to our screens, continuing on the adventures they set out on together in The Mandalorian Season 1. This unexpected partnership of Din Djarin (Mando) and Baby Yoda became a worldwide phenomenon, gathering fans and an astronomical pace, so fans were glad to discover they'd be returning quicker than expected.

[SPOILERS]

For seven weeks, we have been building to this moment. So many characters have been thrust before us, whether that be recognisable or not, they have been scattered across the duration.

What makes The Mandalorian so strong is the ability to incorporate Star Wars lore into this new world, each week a different adventure, all working towards one goal. This season finale wasn't short of any of this, and probably has the biggest "star wars" moment so far, but it didn't quite pay off.

Becoming almost predictable, we knew someone with a lightsaber would show their face but who. In a moment that is attempting to compete with Darth Vader's Rogue One scene, we get the appearance of said Jedi, and it may of been a tear jerking moment but didn't have the payoff you'd expect.

The rest of the episode was more of what we've seen before, with Mando going to rescue Grogu, he is willing to stop at nothing to get his pal back safe. He struggles to fight a Death Trooper and comes up against Moff Gideon with the dark saber.

Full of action, bringing the whole series together, but not quite meeting expectations on an ending that was predictable and the obvious outcome, maybe a bolder decision rather than servicing the fans would've had a bigger payoff.
