TV REVIEW | THE MANDALORIAN: CHAPTER 15

Written by Elliot Lines

[SPOILERS]

The new Star Wars favourite duo have now returned to our screens, continuing on the adventures they set out on together in The Mandalorian Season 1. This unexpected partnership of Din Djarin (Mando) and Baby Yoda became a worldwide phenomenon, gathering fans and an astronomical pace, so fans were glad to discover they'd be returning quicker than expected.

We're onto the penultimate episode of the epic journey, so far it has been filled with Star Wars lore and twist and turns, a show that is getting evermore popular with each viewing. The big build up to the season finale has gathered pace over the series, keeping you guessing what is to come, but this episode gives you nothing more to help predict the final outcome.

This show excels in giving each character a role to play, that's whether they are introduced for one episode or in multiple, at some point they have a meaning or they get brought back into the fold to help on this journey. In this instance was the character of Mayfeld, a bit part character from season one that has a big role to play in this episode and on the hunt for Grogu's return to Din Djarin.

We also get plenty of surprises from the series, and the biggest one in Chapter 15 was the removal of Din Djarin's helmet. Something that is against "the way" of the Mandolorians, or so he believes. This was teased throughout the episode but it shows just how far he is willing to go to get his buddy back, Grogu means a lot to him now and he is not willing to let him go that easily.

As far as the episode goes, it wasn't all that. Once again feeling like a filler episode to help along this mission, but at the time of the season when you want to start seeing the show ramp up to something huge. Don't get me wrong, this is inevitably on it's way, but Chapter 15 felt like it could've provided more of a foundation going forward. Maybe they don't want to give anything away.

Safe to say the final episode is going to be some sort of epic battle, but will we see a Jedi new or old, who else will come together for this and ultimately...will Mando get Grogu back.
