MCM Comic Con London 2025: David Tennant Talks 'Fantastic 4', Guest Interviews & a Sci-fi Interactive Experience

Saturday marked the peak of activity at MCM Comic Con, as tens of thousands more fans flocked to London’s ExCeL Centre to celebrate all things fandom. Whether you're a casual enthusiast or a full-blown superfan, the convention has something for everyone immersed in nerd culture.
The big panel of the day featured one of fans' favourite Doctors, David Tennant, who spoke about his career and answered (or expertly dodged) fan questions. He discussed the places he would have liked to visit as the Doctor, stating, "The only one I wanted to go back to was The Cavern and see The Beatles when they were brand new, but they’ve sort of done that, that was the box that got ticked after I’d left."
Tennant also spoke about roles he'd like to play, including ones from the superhero universe. He revealed, “I did slightly have my eye on Reed Richards and unfortunately it looks like they’ve gone in a different direction.” There were also roles he couldn't yet discuss: "Hopefully I’ll have an answer to your question. I just can’t give it to you now. But in about… maybe in about six months, a year’s time if everything were to go to plan, there may be a wee announcement.”

The Film Focus Online team on the floor had the chance to get a sneak peek at Bridge Command, a highly interactive theatre experience. Each team member was assigned a different role, working together to complete a shared mission. This immersive experience is perfect for sci-fi fans and would make a fantastic group activity. While we only saw a brief preview, it was thoroughly enjoyable—and I can only imagine how impressive the full experience must be.
